Wtf is a carnivorous sponge? Actually, maybe don’t answer that. I don’t need more nightmare fuel in my life.
Sounds like they mostly exist miles deep in the ocean, where tiny scavengers are a more stable food supply. So like carnivorous plants, they evolved carnivory because they lacked alternative sources of nutrients.
Cool, I will do my best to avoid them.
Don’t think you really need to do your best forr that. Just don’t go deep sea diving.
Now I know that carnivorous sponges exist.
