This news, first noticed by Japanese fans, is not looking good for even the last 2 missing planned episodes of SasaKoi, for while CLOUD HEARTS is noted as co-producing the show with Yokohama Animation Lab, CLOUD HEARTS was actually only spun off from the later in 2021 (apparently revolving around producer Satoshi Nakatani), and all of its 4 anime marked as produced by them are in cooperation with Yokohama Animation Lab as well:
- The Iceblade Sorcerer Shall Rule the World (Winter 2023)
- The Great Cleric (Summer 2023)
- The New Gate (Spring 2024)
- Whisper Me a Love Song (Spring 2024 - ?)
edit: They apparently are also co-credited with the TV shorts Tawawa on Monday 2 (Fall 2021) and then Rail Romanesque 2 (Fall 2023) as well, though other sources I have seen only lists YAL there.
The official website domain has already been expired.
Even worse is the report that Yokohama Animation Lab used to list them as one of their partnering companies in their website…until this May (while the anime was still airing!) when references to them were deleted.
ITMedia has tried to contact Yokohama Animation Lab, but the later declined to comment.
As of August it was officially announced that they are still working on the last 2 episodes, but Blu-ray releases would be delayed till January - April 2025 (4 volumes, 1 per month).
Given the horrific production situation we know of since this spring, it’s looking dimmer and dimmer for our beloved HimaYori and Shiho and friends to make a come back in here. And the story - even after the complete nerfing in the anime version - is so damn good! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA…
