Remember when I said I am @Bureaucrat@hexbear.net
That’s right ,I’m Leonid Brezhnev everyone ,sorry for stagnating the Soviet Union and starting the Afghanistan war but at least I stopped those fascists in Czechia ,I’m sorry I just loved those medals 😭
I’m cool too!
I got stuff ranging from a cool Soviet agitprop t-shirt from the Soviet Union to random medals and pins to some books from Stalin. Nothing big.
That’s nice
Makes me wish items could talk so I could learn how they got to where they are.
I love old Soviet ephemera - I’d collect some if I had space for it/money to spare on it
I’m pretty sure I have a Soviet coin lying around somewhere, when I’m back home I’ll see if I can find it…

I am confused on what you linked has to do with Soviet coins ??
It’s not relevant to Soviet coins, no: it’s a very rudimentary form of what’s known as a land acknowledgement, which is something a lot of Native activists in the USA, Canada, Australia, etc recommend that people should do while living in or visiting these regions. It’s not a practice without controversy, however, mainly because institutions of power are constantly trying to co-opt this practice and turn it into a sort of “ritualized crocodile tears” to exorcise guilt, or even into a sort of “bragging between the lines”.
Once I’m back home — where I at least know the land wasn’t violently swindled from anyone — I’ll stop doing the land acknowledgements, but certainly will continue to push for solidary action with the Dakota in my org, and continue with individual actions towards restoring Dakota sovereignty.

It’s like a forum footer, she puts it at the end of every message. Like the Death to Amerika guy.

That he does, lol.
I couldn’t find him when I tried to search because, beyond Lemmy search not working great, he actually says “America”, not “Amerika”.
That’s pretty dang cool.
I’ve got uuuuh… A coin with beloved children’s character Bluey on it?
I have never seen that show ? Is it good ?
It’s a fun kids show, I think. Wholesome family stuff, good messages.
Also people not from Australia tend to love our slang terms, and it uses quite a few!
Ill check it out
