TIL they were bought by Warner Bros at some point.
Oh no! Now where will I get my new Red vs Blue videos… oh wait
The final season which ret-conned all the weird stuff post Burnie was supposed to come out last fall and is still not out. I’m not super hopeful it will now.
Please note that the Roost team is not currently impacted by this action. The Roost Podcast Network will continue operating and fulfilling its obligations while WBD evaluates outside interest in acquiring this growing asset.
I wonder how long their podcasts will go on for.
For as long as they make money
Under Warner? No promises.
So. I wonder how that works then. If they are paid the same even though they have fewer projects or if each section of RT pays them separately.
I don’t know, I like my podcasts.
I am not sure. I haven’t really watched the Rooster Teeth podcast much since Bernie left but I wonder how much of Gus, Gavin, Geoff, and Andrew’s time is spent just with podcasts. I know the Fuckface podcast was branching off into let’s plays so does that fit under their podcast branch?
It would be interesting to hear it broken down. I have to imagine management in a place like Rooster Teeth is just a mess with weird flowcharts of who reports to who and who is in charge of what.
Turns out, people don’t like 7-minute “episodes” for RWBY that take years to come out between them. Who would have thought?! Stupid ass studio wasted so much god damn potential…
RWBY hasn’t had 7 minute episodes in many years. They were short the first couple seasons but kept growing. Pretty sure last season they were normal episode length.
Episode 115 was 15 minutes. 15 minutes is not normal episode length. 24 minutes is.
In all of their seasons, only like 6 episodes ever reached that length; and they were usually the season finale. A season-fucking-finale…barely making standard episode length…
Still ain’t 7 minutes either. Although, I don’t think length matters much. If it did, all hour length shows would be great. In many ways, I liked the shorter episodes. I could sneak one or two between things I was doing.
The time between seasons hurts though.
Length truly does matter a ton. Every single episode I was left with a feeling of “wait…THAT’S IT?!”. And someone mentioned elsewhere, and something I forgot to account for: We lost Monty Oum. I really wish he had written down somewhere how he wanted the show to progress.
I think losing Monty really hurt the series. I only watched a season or so after he left and it felt like they weren’t really sure how to go forward.
Good point, I forgot that we lost him. Holy shit that was in 2015…I could have sworn it happened in 2020.
I tried powering through, but it got worse and worse. The last thing I watched was when Qrow
Spoiler
got Clover killed by teaming up with Tyrian.
It was very out of character, and it just wasn’t believable that someone as experienced as Qrow would do something so stupid.
I just feel bad for RWBY fans. I hope it’s still getting one more season to wrap up the arc.
It’s still ongoing? I totally need to catch up, but I am so far behind, I was waiting for it to finish.
Honestly it hasn’t been that great for a while.
They really went down the fucking rabbit hole here. Seriously, you should brace yourself for what you’re about to encounter…
I kinda feel sorry for what they couldve been
