As Stephanie Grisham spoke at the Democratic National Convention, a screen behind her displayed a text exchange she said she’d had with Melania Trump on Jan. 6, 2021.

An apparent screenshot of text messages between Grisham and first lady [Melania Trump appeared on a large screen as Grisham spoke. The messages show Grisham asking Melania Trump on Jan. 6, 2021, if the first lady wanted to tweet that there is no place for lawlessness and violence.

Grisham said Melania Trump simply responded, “No.”

Grisham said she was the first senior staffer to resign that day, as the DNC crowd applauded.

“I couldn’t be a part of the insanity any longer,” she said.

Shame on all the voters voting for the candidate promising to do better than their opponent.

No. They are promising to not do worse, while offering nothing better. Exactly the game that people constantly bitch about the Democrats playing all the time - ratchet and pawl.

In fact this is barely different than the shit Republicans pull with Hunter Biden’s laptop.

What Melania thinks about the rioters has no bearing on anything, and we already know what Trump says about it because he constantly mouths off. Just like what Hunter Biden does has no bearing on Joe Biden as president and we can can find out about Joe Biden’s policies and opinions directly from him.

While everyone should be calling out Republicans for their continued attempts to overthrow the government, Democrats have to at some point actually offer to do something to fix the problem.

As it stands now, Dems have no reason to address the core problem because as long as Trump is in the picture all they need to say is they’re notasbadasTrump. And when Trump is out of the picture you can bet they’ll prop up the next guy so they can say they’re not as bad as them.

If voters don’t call out that nonsense, especially in blatantly obvious cases like this, it’s not going to change.

Awww. Wooks wike some people want to continue a two party system where one party constantly destroys stuff and the other party just promises not to make it worse while never actually fixing anything.

This is ancient fucking news. We knew Trump wouldn’t call the traitors traitors the day it happened…

The convention is one of the few places where you can safely explain why people should vote for you, instead of against the other guy, and it’s telling when they don’t take that opportunity…

Sorry. You’re right. That’s the kind of thing I should be worried about rather than pointing out the systemic problem that means we lose a little bit of our rights every year.

In the future I will be sure to make sure my tone and format are more agreeable to you, so you can ignore the content in a more creative way.

Lol acting like you care about rights while attacking the best chance to protect them. Please, give up the act.

Even in this completely fictitious example, which could be ANYTHING YOU CHOOSE as your strongest argument, it would still make the most sense to vote democrat. A ratchet with no gear would be preferable to a gear with no ratchet.

What does upvoting mean? Nothing. What matters is actually voting, and I always vote in every election. Local and federal.

Also this picture is a joke. The Democrats have been sliding right for years. The Democratic party is basically centrist, there is no far left party in the US.

This just reeks of the “both sides” stance which isn’t based in reality anymore. If you can honestly look at both sides and say they’re the same then you’re being dishonest.

I’m guessing you saw someone else post that and thought it sounded clever so you’d reuse it the first chance you got?

                  Because it’s completely irrelevant here…

Worry 1:Republicans are fascists that use manipulative techniques on their base. Worry 2: Democratic leaders just used a similar technique Republicans used against Biden and Obama.

You guessed wrong, so you’re starting out with a swing and a miss.

The fact that it has happened, and in fact happened yet again in 2020, is why I bring it up. Numerous times in fact.

This isn’t a “but the other side” situation. Any instance of this is a problem. It doesn’t matter who is orchestrating it, or who is benefitting from it, it shouldn’t happen.
