Original Title: Dolphins display strong avoidance behavior in response to naval sonar systems | Study reveals that dolphins are sensitive to sonar sounds at much lower levels than previously thought. The research team observed 34 dolphin groups, totaling thousands of individuals.
It’s noise pollution, in an environment where dolphins, other cetaceans and probably other creatures depend on sound for long distances communication. This research will, I hope, lead to a change how naval sonar and communication happens.
