It’s probably the most accessible anime I openly recommend. It’s well-animated, strong visual identity, simple premise, unique setting for an anime, and an excellent adaptation of the comedy.

I emphasis the comedy and accessibility because, historically, anime has suffered from borderline cringey tropes/humour (fanservice, perverted humour, women sharing one personality, etc) which limits it’s audience to a specific demo. SpyXFamily blends western aesthetics with clean humour all from the perspective of a realistic 5yo that sees the world wonderfully juxtaposed to an era of turmoil.

You may not love it but I feel confident recommending this as a gateway to other great slice of life animes (Like Skip & Loafer, Dungeon Meshi).
