They fended off the US military and they did so until a ceasefire was reached as they’d been demanding from the start.

Israel cannot claim victory on any front:

Gaza - Most of the hostages will return in bodybags because Netanyahu insisted that he could militarily defeat Hamas. We know this was a cover for genocide but Israelis aren’t going to ignore the fact that Israel essentially sacrificed their own civilians for no benefit. Hamas will grow in size, domestic support will grow, and now there’s a bunch of unexploded bombs to be repurposed for rockets, tandem warheads, and traps.

West Bank - The Palestine authority is quickly losing control of the situation which has continued to escalate for months.

Domestically - Israelis are tearing eachother apart. Thousands are displaced, thousands more are fleeing to their original countries. The political turmoil before the war has only grown.

Lebanon - Despite killing Nasrallah, they failed spectacularly in their invasion despite the best of the Israeli army being dedicated to the northern front. At best, they severed the support front at great cost. Even today, many Israelis aren’t able to return to the North.

Iran - Beyond the assassination of Haniyeh, Israel was totally defeated by Iran in the air. Their best planned retaliation strike barely touched the capabilities of Iranian missiles, and only pushed them towards nuclearisation.

Yemen - Weekly strikes against Sana’a, 18 MQ9 Reapers, and one F-18 later, Israel’s southern port is bankrupt and AnsarAllah has embarrassed the largest naval fleet of all time.

The only front Israel genuinely achieved military success was Syria, but so far they’ve struggled to capitalise on the overthrow of Assad beyond taking a few towns beyond the UN DMZ.

Humanitarian wise this is a disaster but Israel was pulled into a quagmire it had no idea how to win beyond genocide, and even then it has eventually chosen to stand down. If Israel could have “won” in Gaza they would’ve kept fighting.
