    I did this for a living - I would give an estimate of the repair price, and if they said keep it, we would keep them for parts (which came in very handy). If they accepted the estimate, but it later turned out the repair price would likely be higher for unforeseen reasons, they would be notified before I proceeded. This worked really well. I have to wonder what this dude is doing.
