That’s not what’s happening at all.

Republicans are saying they support IVF. Their policies and judicial judgments are saying otherwise. So how do you determine if they’re telling the truth?

Democrats are you going allow Republicans to vote in favor of IVF at the federal level. Those that do presumably actually support IVF or just violated their own values. Those that don’t are lying and can be called out during this election season.

Democrats know Republicans are acting in bad faith. That’s why they’re trapping them.

Trapping them in what? Their supporters don’t fucking care if they’re hypocrites.

You don’t convince the opposition to vote for your candidate. You energize your own voters. This proves to Democratic voters that there are no good Republicans on this issue.

Given the close margins, convincing the opposition to not vote for their candidate is effectively a vote for your candidate.

And we know there are no good Republicans on any issue.

“You don’t convince your opposition to vote for you…”

Yes EXACTLY. Why do Democrats CONSTANTLY make appeals to the right, then?

to convince low information democratic voters to vote for them without providing material benefit. To create “faith” that dem’s hearts are in the right place without proof

Exactly: Further allow the country to rot and Repubs to pull the Overton Window to the right.

Democrats are useful idiots. Through and through.

You make some excellent points and I want to say that I think it is really unfortunate you got hit by the downvote bus.

I’m not who you responded to but there’s a vocal contingent of never-grassers who find and downvote anything short of glowing praise of the DNC et al. Ya grow to love the downvotes, like little love taps from my fellow citizens <3. I might not agree with them, but i do appreciate them. At least theyre motivated.

One in five women from 15 to 49 years of age suffer from infertility. That means that a large number of people that vote republican have benefited from IVF, hope to benefit from IVF or have a loved one who has or would. Demonstrating to them that their representative is trying to block that access can convince them to either vote for a different candidate or not vote at all. Either is a win for the Democrats.

I agree IVF is good. What the fuck are you defending?

My point is REPUBLICANS DON’T CARE!! You can point out how terrible and hypocritical it is all day, every day, and NOTHING WILL CHANGE.

I’m saying this is a proven bad tactic to use against Republicans. Republican in-fighting is NOTHING like Democrat infighting. They WILL pull together when it comes to harming others. Every. Time.

I’m not talking about the candidates, I’m talking about their voters. Their voters do care but they are badly uninformed and misinformed about a lot of things. Making them wake up and smell what they’re voting for is a good strategy.

No, they really don’t care. Conservatives have proven to be too stupid to vote for anything other than “R”.
