Man it would have been great if the UN’s cameras had been operating, but they were damaged in a airstrike. Which means the UN compound was air struck. It seems to be the bigger story here…

“UNRWA received reports that yesterday a group of people with trucks purporting to be from the Ministry of Health of the de facto authorities in Gaza, removed fuel and medical equipment from the Agency’s compound in the Gaza City,”

Given that Hamas is the de facto authority in Gaza, this cannot be Hamas lmfao

Otherwise, Hamas made no effort to disguise who they were, which is even funnier

There isn’t any indication that it was Hamas that stole the stuff? It just that people pretending to be the health authority stole stuff. Could’ve been some selfish asshole civilians who stole shit for themselves when they knew they were likely not priority for that aid.

The UN had supplies for a humanitarian crisis. 1+ million people are being evacuated, and more bombs have now been dropped than an entire year in Afghanistan. Is this not a humanitarian crisis?

If Hamas is the government, and the aid is there, then the government has received the aid that the UN delivered?

I’m sure there’s more to this, that’s not mentioned, but the context is odd.

Hamas does occupy governmental positions, but they’re also demonstrably linked to terrorist actions which they take full responsibility for, and I think that takes precedence for most people. With that, many of us are reticent to call them a government.

To your point though, if we can trust wikipedia and if I’m reading it correctly, the ministry of health in Gaza seems to also be under Hamas governance, so I’m not sure who else you’d deliver the foreign aid too.

Eh fuel and medicine doesn’t help Hamas kill more people. So who cares. And yeah they might use meds to patch up militants, but guess what, laws of war state that wounded soldiers are allowed medical help.

Fuel absolutly helps to kill more people. And wounded soldiers are allowed medical help but those medicines were for the civilians.

No one pays tax, they take tax. You can’t be held accountable for what your mugger spends your money on.

That being said Charitable donations are tax deductible. My goal each year is to donate as much as the government takes in tax so I know they’re doing something good with my share at least. (Union dues may also be tax deductible)

Why weren’t the supplies properly secured? This was going to happen otherwise.

Love all the downvotes from people who have no concept of opsec. Please keep making excuses for them.

The ignorant one is mocking me? What a concept. Quit wasting my time. The UN made a mistake and you and several others are crying that it was pointed out.

You were also so thirsty for validation that you went through my posts and replied to a response from a different thread to a different person assuming it was you. So now you can also go fuck yourself.

They were. If you had read the article, Hamas posed as government workers to gain access, and the security cameras that look over the compound were damaged in Israeli airstrikes.

The supplies were not properly secured, with security systems, cameras, and fences because the compound which stored the supplies had airstrike damage.

Who is more liable in the situation, it’s hard to say

The intel was Israel and they sat on it and let this happen.

Hamas stealing supplies was expected. It has nothing to do with supply line attacks.
