Replaying Salt and Sanctuary (which I apparently have purchased and beat at least 4 times) before Salt and Sacrifice hits Steam, finally.
S&Sanc is probably a top ten Souls game and easily the best 2d Dark Souls. The color palette and lighting can make some traversal annoying and some encounters are obnoxious due to knockback and falling to your death. But the lore is shockingly interesting, gameplay is solid, skilldrasil is fun, and the semi-recent Enhanced edition “patch” rebalances everything so that every playstyle (even fists) is viable.
