how do those youtube clients work? i thought YouTube was very closed source
i just switched to firefox with ublock origin, it took a bit of getting used to but no real issue. Also started using thunderbird because microsoft pushing outlook (pay or have ads at the top of your inbox) and getting rid of their free mail app pisses me off, seems like big software companies are just getting bolder with their anti consumer practices.

how bad is it there? I’d imagine lots of European countries are doing worse
i was only there for around 5 years but I was overall quite happy with the community there (granted I spent my time in small hobbyists subreddits), and Lemmy seems to be quite a good community too but a lot smaller and so there’s less information to be shared
i miss the content on there, and decades worth of answered questions, as well as how polished it was compared to lemmy
but I don’t see myself going back there either
it’s becoming “redditified”
