We’re clear that every Republican candidate is worse than the last. Voting biden in 2024 will help the short term. You’re going from crisis to crisis. It’s by design. Can’t put the neighborhood fire out if you’re always worried about your house.
How would Trump be worse for the Palestinians?
Would Bibi bomb even harder? Because he seems to be ignoring international pressure now. Would Trump give even more bombs to Bibi? Because there doesn’t seem to be a handle on the throttle now.
Trump moved the embassy. Did biden move it back?
Trumps despicable. There’s lots of reasons to prefer biden come November, but how is biden better on this issue?
He lives somewhere. He shouldn’t ever be comfortable
Saving isn’t the same as profit. Saving is much more beneficial, but our society is focused on profit.
I don’t think there’s a reasonable way out of this hole, but I’d rather be in a world with more forest, so I’ll keep suggesting that.

194·6 months agoI agree with you, but you might find the history of Zionism interesting. Before Israel, there was a sizable portion of Zionists that didn’t want Israel to exist in the middle east. There were also Zionists that didn’t want a ‘state’. They thought it was more important to have a safe place for a sizable Jewish population. There’s probably a lot of flavors of Zionism that you’d agree with. It’s the dominant Israeli Zionism that’s horrible.
It’s a lot easier to say ‘Zionist’ though. Just thought I’d share in case you weren’t aware.
I listened to a podcast a couple of months ago that was about some international agreement that got rid of a bunch of pollution that was going to make this year MUCH warmer.

When Harper was still in power, the Canadian government had a deal where the oil companies would get subsidized until the oil sands were profitable.
So Canada was giving the oil companies billions.
I’m putting on my tinfoil hat now.
Trudeau rushed to buy the pipeline when it was canceled. Is that because the oil sands can’t be profitable without the pipeline, and this deal is bleeding Canada dry?
I just thought of this now, I’d love some criticism if anyone’s got some.
I think our three major parties are all neoliberal. They all want to do the same things, they just argue against how much to spend and who to give the money to.
There’s exceptions of course. Notably guns and marginalized people.
I’d prefer not to have a neoliberal government, but until then I’m voting for more freedom for everyone. (NDP or Green)

100% it’s different.
Just because a movie has a jump scare it isn’t necessarily a scary movie. There’s a difference between some existential dread and ‘boo’.
I’d argue that the accident is a startle response with body horror mixed in.
Some people are scared of death. Doesn’t matter the cause. That’s what I’m talking about. It’s 100% different than a fatal car accident.

Lots of Americans seem to think that state media is a bad thing. Lot’s of countries get it right. Especially after it’s first been implemented.
I’d often rather have a government (obviously not Russia, China, or in my case Canada) over some oligarch controlling it. Murdoch hasn’t exactly been doing good things wherever he goes

What’s the difference between what’s going on now and carpet bombing? 60% of buildings in the strip have been damaged by bombs. Sources from december are saying that it’s the most destructive bombing campaign since the second world war. Gaza is already being carpet bombed.
