This was years ago, but I had a similar issue of not being able to SSH in a hotel. I talked to the front desk and they were able to grant me access to a different network that didn’t have that blocked. I can’t remember whether I had to pay for it or not…

As usual, this is somewhat misleading. Texas’s amount of solar generation is just a factor of its sheer size. In terms of the percentage of energy generated by solar, California generates around 3x more than Texas
But you had to set up trackers to begin with…
