  • I feel like we did this to ourselves over generations, probably even hundreds of years, and it’s purely a fear response based in the fact we can’t help but allow the worst kinds of people to “lead” us.

Moderates are what you get when you essentially selectively breed for those “neurotypical” people who can quietly work 9-5 jobs without complaining(read: standing up for themselves) and who are totally ok with “not rocking the boat” by demanding respect at their workplaces. They’re the people who take twice as long to do anything but they’ll show up at 8:30am like good little zombies and act like their deep burnout is just a fact of life because if it wasn’t then that makes them have to consider doing literally anything about it.

I know too many people in my field who are afraid of their bosses and they are the ones the bosses like even if they do worse work. So us “neurodivergent” people are pushed out of jobs because we even politely ask for a little of what corporate propoganda says it cares about on its “about us” page. You cannot be careful enough with their feelings because they do not care and no amount of being moderate will appease them.

  • …but the actual responses that Rook delivers are often a far cry from the perceived intent of the dialogue choice.

From another article I found. Look, I play Origins and I played Dragon Age 2 and I played Mass Effect 2 and…that’s just Bioware. They’re not good at writing dialogue and their games are the Call Of Duty of the Fantasy RPG genre.

I saw one example that it clarified what impact a choice would actually have by saying “this would establish a trans identity” and frankly them not being trusted to write good dialogue so many times makes clunky shit like that kinda necessary. It also suffers from the Tiffany Effect in that “Trans” is not a word that lends itself to immersion in a fantasy world.

Dragon Age games just aren’t that deep and ya’ll need to just admit it.

P.S.: I might still get Veilguard on sale and frankly the game looks like it might be the most interesting that they’ve put out so far. A few clunky attempts at inclusion shouldn’t stop you from buying a game and if it does then I don’t really give a shit about your opinion.

  • Trump’s numbers have actually so far been worse(I mean, a lot of them fucking died from covid for one).

I highly doubt being a woman was the reason they lost when there are a million very clear and obvious bad aspects to their strategies. There was so much courting of the right you’d think they were the Republicans of 20 years ago and not Democrats.

People still should have voted against Trump but a vote should be for someone you like and not against some you don’t.

  • It wasn’t the women. Hillary was awful as a person and Harris came in with such energy only to crush it by trying to court the right because the DNC at large would rather lose than be actual, left-wing competition. Right-wingers are all-or-nothing right now and you can’t convince them of fucking anything.

When Trump was against another old man he did great because not only was Biden the same as what I just mentioned he was also an old white man which people are rightly sick of. Once Harris showed up Trump fell to fucking pieces and the only people who killed Kamala’s momentum were of her own party.

Being a woman, if anything, helped a lot.

  • Yes, because the disaster that is the stock market is really going to prove anything. Economies work best when small amounts change hands often and all these people who deal in stocks care about are big numbers and getting in on the action of stealing more and more money.

They’re excited about lower taxes, removal of regulation, and the ability to further exploit the working class for short term gain. That’s all. If they actually gave a shit about having a strong economy they’d be paying their people well enough to supporty and not be chasing infinite growth in a finite system.

  • The people with the most privilege to ignore things are the ones who have safety nets to cushion them. If you aren’t in that group then you really shouldn’t be hiding from the news. If you are, then you are in a group that has money and possibly influence, and which can draw the ears of people who have written off minority groups but might still listen to you. You don’t have to break yourself over it but plugging your ears and getting shat on later isn’t going to do anything.
