“widely understood” maybe in certain circles hehe
I assume it’s your ability to visualise things in your head. I’m the last one 🙃
I think the point is they don’t hate who they are. We don’t let them be themselves. They hate who they are forced to be.
Almost everyone cares deeply about their identity. People’s identities just pull from different things.
An equivalent would be banning a certain sport or type of music or food type, etc. that people identify with.
That’s not what genocide means. You can’t come up with your own definition of a word then attack people for not using said made up definition.
That said genocide doesn’t quite fit as it’s not based on race or culture. Eugenics would be a more correct term.
The government literally covered up the massive leap in suicides since banning trans care for youths.
Bit more than not being represented.
They’re actually right. In most cases people simply forget to put a window down or sometimes that the kid is in the car.
There’s also no need for ableist language like that.
I wonder if that’s because it’s one of the most mentally draining ages.
Often the parents forget about them rather than intentionally leave them with no windows open.
I wrap the paper around it and then wash it after.
I don’t need to wash my hands that way.
You think being aggressive with a dog suffering severe anxiety is a good plan?
This is just awful advice from every angle.
Dogs learn much better from reinforcing positive behaviour.
It’s a fork of existing software so I seriously doubt it
For a small community like this it’s likely it popped up in all. That’s what happened for me.
That also likely explains the downvoted if I just showed in the all feed looking like an ad.
All computer code is algorithms.
The point is without that personalisation it’s much less likely to show things you are interested in.
People complain about the algorithms on other social media but you can see here exactly why they have them.
Without them it becomes hard to get connected to things that interest you.
For Lemmy I’ve managed to build a decent feed by browsing all and subscribing to communities I like.
You just have to do the algorithms job now.
As for the big communities it’s exactly what happened to the old internet. It used to be a large collection of individual sites but discovery was hard. So the front pages of the internet started popping up.
I expect the same thing will happen to the fediverse eventually. It’s just a better user experience sadly.
Jeez who hurt you haha
Most likely being executed by higher ups.
They’ve existed much longer than social media hehe
The thing is some group of people must like it or people wouldn’t do it.
Chances are this is a “you aren’t the target audience” type deal.
Yeah feels a little stuck up lol
