I mean. When I was a teen. I was making more money working there than I made ten years after. He paid well for the region but it wasn’t a lot. Pennsylvania had a 3$ minimum wage at the time and he paid close to 10$/hr for entry level box stacking work. Many people made a good life working there.

      Okay, and?

He paid well for the region but it wasn’t a lot

So, he chose to not pay a lot because he could get away with it due to the conditions your community was already forced into. And?

Bud. He paid 3x the minimum wage at the time. That was a lot of money for the 90’s. Could have been much worse like all the Italian owned businesses I worked for that treated me like shit and abused me. Then I worked for a Jewish family and I never saw more crime in my life than I did working in their hotel resort. I saw a judge freaking out on his lawyer before he was arrested by the FBI for a Kids for Cash scheme. That resort was a criminal safe space.

Cool. He paid more than the extremely low minimum wage (and still did not pay much). I too don’t do the absolute worst things that I might be allowed to do. Now what?

I wouldn’t say he under paid. He could have paid the minimum wage but he didn’t. He paid 2x to 3x that for entry level positions loading and emptying trucks. And the drivers were very well paid. With good benefits because my friends mother received good cancer treatment because of the HMO plan the business had in the old days. When other businesses provided little to no care back then. So would you say he under paid his employees if he was paying more than most businesses around?

The one job I had 15 years later in the same town paid me 3$/hr to be a server and busboy. He was paying close to the teens way before it was the norm. But compared to what I make now. It’s nothing. But again families made a good living from working there. Until the mob burned down the warehouse.

You already did say that he did not pay a lot.

He could have paid the minimum wage but he didn’t

And I could have been assaulting random people, but I don’t do that. Heap laurels upon me now.

Going to note that you being paid so little is a consequence of extremely rich people like your friend existing as a class in your economy.

The people that paid me the worst were Jewish. So there’s that.

              This is rather silly.

Capitalists push to have your wages be lower and lower, and you keep trying to defend them.
Meanwhile, we already know that their abolition produces massive improvements in the standards of living.

Bud I got an education that made my value as employee explode. My last job paid over $65/hr because of my worth. Sadly the imperialists laid us off. But I will find work again. Last time it took me just 5 days. I already have 3 interviews set up. And have progressed through one of them currently.

Kid, you were paid that not because of ‘your worth’, but because of your position. You can have any education and have any sort of skills and still be paid 3$ per hour.

Also, again, you present individual anecdotes to claim that the system as a whole does not work as described. Your education is very clearly lacking.

Calling a dude born in the 80’s a kid? Wooof. Come on now.
