Cedar waxwings are cool in my book. A surprisingly friendly and docile bird with a lot of personality. There were dozens of them in a few berry trees. Males, females, and juveniles alike. These waxwings are a breed of bird that survives primarily off of berries, not that they won’t eat a little protein on the side.

Waxwings are by far one of my most favorite species. I had longed to see them, but never could manage it until a couple of years ago.

I was on a walk and heard bird calls I was unfamiliar with. I searched for the source and was blown away. Firstly, by how much smaller they were than I thought they’d be. 😅 But then by how beautiful they truly are. 💜 I didn’t have my binoculars at the time, which was a bit sad, but I was honestly just happy to have finally encountered them. 😍

A couple of months ago, I finally was able to see them through binoculars for the first time. They really are the best. 💜💜💜
