The one discord server I tried to be active in has rooms for damn near every conceivable topic and the mods heavily enforce using the channels to the point you can not have an actual, generic conversation in any of them because they will naturally change topics over time and then the mods will force you into another room or mute you. It’s stupid as fuck.
Yeah that’s dumb as shit… What’s the server about? Why keep going there? I tend to vote with my feet nowadays. If I don’t like something I don’t participate in it.
It was for a furry streamer I watch. I don’t really hang out there because of the aforementioned reasons, but initially * was just looking for more furries to chat with.
That makes sense. My other guess would have been a programming/mod/language server where the server owner or mods is a control freak, but that’s also almost a circle with the furry community too 😂
The irony is they’re trying sooooo hard to make discord into a traditional forum system. Probably so things are actually searchable… Which is nearly impossible on discord.
They’re better off writing down the things they want to recall a decade later on rolls of toilet paper in my opinion.
