Summary

Republican Rep. Nancy Mace of South Carolina to introduce a measure banning transgender women from using women’s bathrooms in the U.S. Capitol.

The move comes just two weeks after Democrat Sarah McBride became the first openly transgender person elected to Congress.

Mace characterized the measure as an attempt to protect women’s rights, but Democrats criticized it as a distraction from pressing policy issues.

It’s this the UFO woman too? Didn’t she just recently write a book?

The cynical asshole in me says all this is connected to enriching herself… Write a book, bring a whole bunch of attention to yourself, shitheads that like the cut of your jib buy your book…

Hey, can we not use mysgonstic phrasing to defend trans women? I feel and appreciate where you are coming from and she is an awful person for doing this. But at best stuff like that is hypocritical since your using bigoted language to fight bigotrry and at worst legitimizes TERF talking points that “trans people and allies hate cis women”.

Just like when a trans person does something shitty it’s not a free pass to misgender them or when a PoC is shitty that’s not a pass to use racist language or woman is shitty thats not a pass for sexist rhetoric.

Sorry, I don’t like to tone police but as a trans women myself, this sort of thing really bothers me.

I do apologize, I don’t love putting more vitriol and negativity out there in the world I’m just fed up. There’s no great defense and it’s something I’m trying to work on. I appreciate your insight

I know from personal experience that it’s easy for anger to override your better judgement. It’s hard to overcome, but it can be done, and it’s well worth it. I appreciate that you’re making the effort!
