Probably not, but we could have definitely have had some much cooler new sci fi universes, made directly and solely for the big screen. The James Cameron Avatar movies aren’t the greatest, but damn every time there’s some cool sci-fi ship in them I go “damn imagine if we had more of this and less bad star wars”.
Star Wars came out in 1977. Imagine what we could have done if we hadn’t wasted our time making more and more of these stupid movies
