These replicas not only look and sound like the original person but also behave, emote, and adapt with startling realism, drawing from extensive digital and personal archives. Families embrace them for comfort, while others view them as unsettling echoes of the past. Society is divided on whether these androids are a gift of connection or a distortion of human life.
If you had the chance to bring back a loved one as an AI, would you?
No.
I wouldn’t bring back a loved one, but I would be willing to train a “living AI” based on me, continually tweaking it whlle I’m alive, making it ready to sub in when I die.
That would be a fascinating experience.
Why the fuck would I replicate some loser who got merked by entropy when I could make a copy of myself and cause twice as many problems?
Sure, why not. People have silly, puritanical opinions about AI. Am I’m not just talking about the frothing at the mouth and rending of clothes that people like to do over “AI” LLMs today.
