An office worker who went on maternity leave for 28 months before refusing to return to work has had her unfair dismissal case thrown out by an employment tribunal.
I’m a terrible union-loving leftie who loves nothing more than seeing workers get what they’ve earned, so I read this prepared to be outraged on her behalf.
And wasn’t.
Dunno why she thought she had a case, but according to what I read there, she really didn’t.
Yeah, I’m a long time union member who even worked for a rep as a bit, if a member came to me with this I’d tell her she brought it on herself and there’s little we can do.
There’s always going to be a handful of people who are either too detached from reality to grasp that they don’t have a case, and another handful who know they don’t have a case but who are willing to chance a ridiculous claim.
