Or “launder” goods through there, like China did with Mexico and some other countries. Or the US did earlier in its colonial history.
The countries with the lowest tariffs will become connector economies. Whether governments want it or not, there is just too much profit to be made.
This is why Trump is specifically targeting those countries, but then other countries will take their place.
And the end game is, Trump can succeed, but not without a global recession and much higher prices for Americans.
Why? What American products do we want?
It’s mostly the other way around: Americans want products from the rest of the world.
But to answer your question directly: there are products which only the US makes, but more importantly, if American products become cheaper due to a weaker dollar, then people will buy them. That’s what Trump is hoping for.
They won’t get it and no, there’s no products we need from America. You make film and they too stopped being impressive and started bleeding greed goo from every orifice
