the national parks system was p cool. I went to several out west and met some cool tourists from overseas. mostly the anglosphere.
I totally do not understand why anyone would visit the cities though. they are fucked.
like at best they get to go home with a story about how they saw the cops murder somebody or caught a glimpse of the opiate crisis. grimdark edgy vacation highlight. maybe something amusing like “I saw a guy eat 64 oz of steak”… like some real Dante’s Inferno type of travelogue.
Maybe I should stop arguing for aspects of the US lol, but again there’s so much amazing art and music especially from marginalized ppl in US cities, it just happens to be created in the middle of a decaying, shambling fascist empire so you should definitely stay the fuck away until the beast has stopped breathing.
I just hope the art and cool people survive outside of archaeological records
A lot of major cities have extensive art collections in museums. Chicago, New York, and DC have amazing stuff you won’t find collected together anywhere else. Rome, Tokyo, Mecca, Cairo, and Paris are like the holy sites of art. You can find all of them together in the US.
The Art Institute of Chicago is a favorite of mine and it’s full of beautiful & irreplaceable works from pretty much all eras of history. I would hate to see it all destroyed by this fucking devil country.

I have been told that New York City is great for shopping if you are into that sort of thing and has that kind of money.
if you are “into” shopping you belong in a re-education camp. greed and gluttony are vile.
