Absolutely excellent and exhaustive guide that could as well be called the Fallout Bible (if that wasn’t already the title of the Fallout design documents). Would definitely recommend referring to it if you need a guide. I would actually suggest perusing the character building section even if you’re not intending to use it as a walkthrough as a good character will set you up to maximally enjoy these games if you’re only intending to play them once.

For Fallout 2 you should also look into some mods, in particular Restoration Project, Updated.
