Apple says it's not preventing Epic from republishing Fortnite, it just doesn't want Epic to do it in the US.

      Don’t think Epic is somehow a white knight trying to liberate the poor consumers. Both parties here suck.

      Epic’s whole business model is getting children addicted to gambling loot boxes and Apple’s IAP system is a roadblock to that. With their own payment system they can simply get little Jimmy to enter mommy’s credit card number so he can get all the loot boxes he wants without being stopped by Apple’s pesky parental control system.

        Epic’s reason does suck, but the byproduct of that effort is a win for us consumers. I’ll take that over apple screwing us over some more

    This is one of those “technically correct” responses. The issue is Epic has developed Fortnite for a global release cadence to ensure it doesn’t have a fractured experience. Since Apple is blocking the US, they don’t want to release it in the EU and deal with multiple versions.
