It is a bit of both, Chinese diaspora from certain periods are some of the most brainwashed compradors of all time, rivalling Cuban gusanos but not quite at the level of brainworms of Persian Shah supporters. Guys who came over during the end of the civil war or the handover of Hong Kong can have some strong brainworms and pass them to their kids. They hold themselves subservient to the whites but superior to the “dirty mainlanders” and often fully believe in the stuff they say; the grifting money doesn’t hurt though.

One thing I will note is that I’ve seen a lot of these compradores actually turn around on China after seeing the massive development and growth, as if they realize they no longer need to have an inferiority complex towards the west and aren’t ashamed of being Chinese.

Oh really? That’s interesting, I have yet to see that but I also don’t really follow those people a lot.

It’s not the majority, but there are definitely “influencers” and “china experts” that have seen the way the wind is blowing. The think tank type grifters are hopeless though, their paycheck depends on China bashing so they’ll do it to the end.

It’s a fantastic sign that the influencer guys are changing their tunes though.
