The Ukrainian Air Force has published the first interview with a Ukrainian pilot who flies a Ukrainian American-made F-16 fighter jet. The pilot spoke about his combat experience, combat tactics, and the work of the aircraft crew, who quickly mastered complex Western equipment. The interview was published on the official channel of the Ukrainian Air Force.
The pilot’s name is not being disclosed for security reasons. He said that the fighters fly almost every day: reconnaissance missions, missions to defeat Russian troops in the TOT (Temporary Occupied Territories) and Russian territory, and missions to escort Ukrainian MiG-29, Su-27, Su-24, and Su-25 aircraft. According to him, Ukrainian pilots use Western aircraft very effectively: 80% of the missiles fired hit their targets, including due to the fact that Ukrainian intelligence works very well.
“When I say “almost every one”, it really means almost every one – it’s not four out of eight, it’s more than 80% of the missiles we launch hit the target and destroy both “Shaheeds” and cruise missiles – whether sea-based, air-based, or ground-based… Our intelligence forces adapt very quickly. We receive all this data, the data is quite relevant. If we want to, our bomb will fly into someone’s window,” he said.
