Yes I agree, and of course we hope the insanity will end. But as you write, just because Democrats manage to get elected next time, is not enough to restore trust.
When (if) things return to normal, we can trade and cooperate, but we can’t have any dependence on USA anymore.
It must be tough to be American right now, and I don’t mean inflation, house prices or recession. But the psychological environment must be insanely stressful.
I really feel for the Americans that understand what’s going on, and tried to prevent it.
Personally when Trump got elected, I decided to simply disregard USA as friend and partner. And consider USA as a country as mostly irrelevant now.
Maybe if there’s a revolution, and AOC becomes president, then I would have hope for a quick recovery. But there are not any realistic way I can see for that in the near future.
