Can anyone explain the latest bluesky drama to someone who hates the platform and refuses to spend time on it?

Basically she was referring to this famous tweet that goes like “I like waffles” “oh so you hate pancakes?” “No that’s a completely different sentence!”

So she shouted “waffles” at someone for trying to hold her to her word about making social media less toxic by simply banning cyberbullies. Somehow, she fails to see the connection between banning a troll and making social media less toxic.

Then after that, she posted a picture of this waffle she had for breakfast to literally ragebait people concerned with how she’s pretty much admitted to protecting a cyberbully.

Adding to this, there was already controversy about the transphobe last year. He made an account, got banned, then got unbanned. People made a starter pack that blocked him and anyone who follows him automatically. Thats what made some Bluesky users try to make accounts here, as a prominent trans user pointed it out as a safe space.

This is just Bluesky doubling down on things they refused to do previously.

lol, I’m choosing to believe it was meant to be typed like *WAFFLES!* to indicate an verb rather than a noun

        intransitive verb
        1 : equivocate, vacillate
2 : to talk or write foolishly : blather

Context: Some folks like pancakes, some folks like waffles, there’s no reason to hate each other about it

french toast is the true proletarian breakfast bread because it’s properly made with leftovers.
