Calling them by their class because you don’t remember either

I always revert to calling them by their race/ancestry or using racial traits like long ears for elves. It makes playing old characters more authentic, lol.

      I just bluescreen though.

I play BG3 with a couple people that I met here on Lemmy and I know their real names. I call them by their real names. We all do. But the second BG3 starts I just blank out. Last week we were playing Peak and I could not remember one of their names for the fucking life of me and kept calling them some different nickname based off of their username.

I was in a party where one of the members was a trans woman (abt 2 years in) and her DND name became her actual name, she was testing it out with us 🥰

I dm’d a steady group at my FLGS for a couple years with people I didn’t already know. It took an embarrassingly long time to learn some of their real names. Definitely that last one for me.

I personally refer to the characters as seperate entities, directly.

Ohh, I’ve been playing d&d with my coworkers this whole time (also assigning them fairly shitty characters).

I forgot their character names, so I just give them nicknames. The power of playing a dumb character.

There was a player in my group who’s character name and real name were fairly similar, so I ended up calling him his character’s name a lot. Now he has a new character and I keep calling him by the old character’s name by mistake
