I’ll also add that I hated the average hours of use thing cause whenever I would mail them in to get repaired it seemed like that time was being counted as well, so Id go in and get told I’m averaging something like 5 hours a day when I’m wearing them more like 16-18 hours a day.
Thanks for that! I never knew the back end, I kinda inferred some of it but it’s nice to hear the process
Neat!
In my other comment I address the specific issue that’s more common with hearing aids, which is overwhelming your brain with noice it’s not used to.
This. A good audiologist will usually start the gain pretty low, like 30% otherwise it overwhelms your brain in a way that’s hard to describe but will mean you don’t like it. After a few months you can have the gain turned up.
But if you can’t get the settings tweaked you can just turn volume down as soon as they are turned on.
Yo, compensation doesn’t matter.
Outcome per dollar matters.
Hiring people at starvation wages may work, or hiring more expensive cream of the crop may work. What I care about when I’m donating is “did my dollars accomplish what I wanted?” And “could my dollars have done more for the cause elsewhere?”
If people are making the world better and have nice office furniture I don’t really begrudge them that.
Probably. They’re likely original to the house, so circa 1948
I kept pushing it off. I’m getting a new roof this year so I’ll have those installed with the new gutters.
Not a bad idea. I do love a performance
What kind of set you use? I’ve had a whetstone but got tired of it cause it takes a while to set up and soak, and it was hard to make a good edge on my curved kitchen knives.
Now I use a 3 stage coarseness “drag the blade through the V groove” sharpener, usually only use the 2 finer settings, but it seems to wear out and get a less fine edge over time.
This guy diy’s
What kind of healthcare you working in with the kind of commute? I’m good at my job nursing but I can’t imagine that’s someething people get flown in for.
Yes. Easy patch.
I mean, public transport is a fucking ton of money to start up, and anywhere outside an urban center it is not just a loss but almost a total loss due to distances.
I remember being in a meeting in grad school to discuss the school bus system as part of the student review of finances. We had a bus route that went to another town a good distance away, and it was nearly always empty or with like 2 people on it, so they basically said once the grant money is gone we will shut down this route. We can’t afford to put good money into something expensive and isn’t getting used.
I realize there is a lot about car culture feeding that, but it remains a massive obstacle. Switching from existing structures like parking etc to public transport? How? How fast? What do we do with that space? Who pays for it? I’m frustrated by the system but we can’t just start from a blank slate, we have to work with it.
I get that, and I’m kinda trying to see how to best use my limited time in the mornings for workouts. I can’t lift weights anymore due to joint issues, so I’m trying to keep the sexy legs I earned!
thats basically what I was doing at the gym, but the bikes with present modes don’t have enough adjustability to fit me very well and my back ends up hurting afterwards. So I need to switch to using one of the dumb bikes with all the adjustments but no computer like what you see in a spin class.
That and my kids wouldn’t stand for hours of exercise, I get like 30 minutes. I was just going indefinitely and keeping my rpm around 100, but I’m trying to mix it up
Whats an ESG?
Electronically Sourced… Giganautasaurous?
Sorta. I’m a comfortable person expressing affection and my inner emotions with friends. I’m also often the one initiating the sharing asking how they are etc, and the physical touch. It’s nearly always me initiating, so I’m kinda uncertain how it is in the other person’s head. Obv not bad enough to recoil or ask me to stop, but maybe they’re just a bit uncomfortable.
Yes. I want it more. I look at relationships among women where that level of physical affection is part of the connection and reinforces it and I want that. I only really have that with my wife and one close friend, who is a woman.
As I recall prices have been going up for a long time. Nationally I believe all fast food chains have increased prices way beyond the rate of inflation for the past 12 years.
What would you pick as your top 3? Top 2?
I see autonomy sorta winding through this one, any thoughts on why that’s a big deal for you?
Curious as I’ve done this exercise before but only in short lists. I think I did it in couples therapy once as well, and, yeah, autonomy probably not a good one in the setting.
In pole dancing terms that’s the gluteal crease or gluteal fold.
Medically the gluteal fold is the buttcrack.
