822·1 year agoExactly, Al Jazeera is owned by the Qatari royal family, guess where the heads of Hammas have been hiding? Qatar. So there’s no question Al Jazeera is a propaganda outlet at all.
However, still doesn’t excuse blowing up media representatives, even propagandists.

543·1 year agoWe need to unionize, or the existing Tech/Communications unions need to get better and expand to include us.
We also need to force tech departments to stop offshoring their workers, I love our Indian tech Bros as much as the next guy, but companies need to hire local first rather than ripping off Indian tech Bros on the cheap just because they can.
And lastly, let remote workers who can do their jobs perfectly fine working remote stay remote, there is absolutely no reason why someone who works in cloud or virtualization technologies should have to be onsite, same with developers, same with so many other positions, both tech and standard.

1·1 year agoI read both the Honorverse and Jack Campbell’s The Lost Fleet series, and They both have some interesting caricatures of communism/hyper-corpo-communism.
Reading both series, and other serial space operas, I’m really just reading it for the space battles and futuristic Cyberpunk political intrigue, that’s why the Mary Sue main characters work, that and having a cast of characters that are nice to come back to, part of what I loved about the familiarity of the Star Wars Expanded Universe.
Also Weber hasn’t been writing Honor as frequently these days, so it’s a treat to go back to that storyline when something new comes out, I’ve been a Weber fan for decades and enjoy the Safehold series as well, even though the main character is pretty much Honor Harrington, lol.
