  • “Venomous Lumpsucker” by Ned Beauman was good. The writing style reminded me of Weir a bit.

“The Reformatory” by Tananarive Due was also pretty good.

Very different books from each other. Neither are completely without flaw, but both books were a solid B+.

Ive never read a bad Agatha Christie book.

My favorite book is “A Confederacy of Dunces” by John Kennedy Toole, and his novella “Neon Bible” was also very good.

“The Dog Stars” by Peter Heller was good.

“Godshot” by Chelsea Bieker was very good.

  • I would assume if an entity had my phone number they could easily connect it to me, like by spoofing it and calling themselves and getting the name off caller id or some shit, or even just subpoenaing the phone carrier for the id of the phone number. Why they would want to do that for little old fudgy mctubbs is beyond me.

I’ll say it: I dont want anybody to know what I jack off to. It’s all legal stuff, but im too prudish to have that be public.

Anonymity is impossible, but we can still attempt it.

  • My favorite movie (The Big Lebowski) has already been mentioned so here are some movies ive really enjoyed:

    There Will Be Blood

    Project Hail Mary

    Love and Monsters

    Downsizing (Matt Damon)

    O Brother Where Art Thou

    Three Amigos

    The Orphanage (Del Toro)

Rosemary’s Baby (disclaimer: This is a Roman Polanski film, and if you’re unwilling to separate art from the artist, feel free to skip it and more power to you)

    Shaun of the Dead

    Dr Strangelove

    North by Northwest

  • Msdos on my family’s Commodore taught me my foundation of computer literacy. Then Q-Crack and editing the Duke Nukem 3D config file and sharing it with a friend so we could play over the modem together expanded my understanding and confidence. Linux paired with google searches/forums just seemed like a natural progression to me.

  • Listen, pal, your beef shouldn’t be with folks like me questioning if your “rave review” stippled with flowery adverbs is an ad. If you’re just some dude writing, then you’re just some dude writing.

Your beef should be with marketers and advertisers who for the past decade+ have dishonestly inserted their scumbag bullshit ads into social media threads pretending to be just another excited commenter/content contributor leaving rave reviews with flowery adverbs. Go be pissed at them.

Glad you like your Anbernic. I have an RG556 and two other lesser Anbernic devices. The lesser ones both stopped turning on after about a year – for no good reason. The RG556 still works 16 months after I got it. It’s fine at what it’s intended to do, but sucks as a Steam Link device.
