Attention everyone there was a major US election that took place 2 days ago resulting in Trump winning
If you get on social media for the next month (probably more) you are going to see politics unless you filter it out or get off social media

I recognize this and my reply in my comment is:
The sad truth is that no candidate will fix these things.
It’s hard to get people motivated when they recognize that even their top pick will still not resolve any issues. I’m not saying you shouldn’t vote because of that, I’m just saying I can empathize with that sentiment.
I voted, but devils advocate here.
These are the big issues in my mind: Health care Housing Cost of living/ worker rights Climate change War in Gaza Infrastructure improvement
At absolute best maybe infrastructure and cost of living get addressed in a minor way.
The sad truth is that no candidate will fix these things. Even if they weren’t such complex issues, big $$$$ will make sure 2/3s of these things remain the way they are.
Since I’ve been alive (born in 90s) I have only seen the decline of every system around me regardless of what polical party is in.
So yes I voted, yes I hope the people I voted for get in, yes they will reduce how quickly things are going downhill, but I do not expect them to even address most of those topics in a meaningful way.
It makes it difficult to give enough of a shit to vote in the first place. Even if my candidates win, the issues I care about the most will almost certainly not be fixed.
I recognize this is a very pessimistic view and I crave to be proven wrong but the last 20+ years I’ve lived would lead me to believe I will be correct.
Living in a red state this is how I thought of it, even if my vote is wasted at least maybe the world can see a majority (even if it’s slight) of Americans voted against trump numerically even if he wins.
saying “It’s a piece of cake” is the reason she falls down
Holy shit is that the reason why Jareth gets so pissy when Sarah says it again down in the tunnels and sends in the cleaners?
Is this not the game I saw an article about like yesterday saying EA had missed revenue forecasts and EA stated a major overhaul is needed?
I guess step one is to restrict the player base more.
Freedom means you can cancel a subscription based on any arbitrary decision you chose. We should buy things based on our freedom to choose, if that means you chose based on quality that’s great and makes sense. If you choose for any reason other than quality, that’s great it’s your money.
How can you not see the fallacy in your own argument?
So do nothing and continue to financially support something you disagree with? Are you a cuck or something?
US backs down
Does the US back down? We definitely double down
Brauchli has publicly encouraged people not to cancel their Post subscriptions in protest.
“It is a way to send a message to ownership but it shoots you in the foot if you care about the kind of in-depth, quality journalism like the Post produces,”
The two sentences that made me lol. Of course the consumer is shooting itself in the foot not subscribing to a journal whose integrity is in question after one of the oligarchy decided it needed to suppress an endorsement. If the consumers weren’t shooting themselves, who else could it be? Certainly not the great Bezos!
Never heard of it, how is this distro for new users? I run mint for reference, but I’m always trying to learn about other distros.
I’m aware the Streisand effect is specifically regarding concealing info causing way more attention drawn to it, my point is that highlighting the fact that gamers hate Denuvo and trying to change that fact will most likely only amplify the hatred.
I will be more specific I hate any software that isn’t required for a game to work. The reason why I worded it vaguely is because I’m not just talking about DRM, but anti-cheat and launchers as well (even though launchers aren’t 3rd party).
As far as metrics are concerned I’m perfectly ok with that, as long as I have the option to opt-in or at the very least made aware of it.
What it really boils down to is I don’t want any unnecessary extraneous packages with the software that I actually want. For the most part I avoid games that add these things.
That’s why I avoid games with launchers for the most part. I also specified what I meant by third party software, I could have worded that more concisely.
I think them trying to win gamers over is just going to Streisand effect the hatred instead. I don’t want 3rd party anything that I don’t elect to install, even if it doesn’t effect the performance( which I also don’t buy).
Mint’s sweet I switched from 10 a few months back. Biggest difference is getting use to the different file system, only 2 games have been unplayable (didn’t try to make them work tbh).
Ahhh I misunderstood your tone my bad, it’s a bit of an emotional topic for me. I’ve been checking in on friends the last couple days to make sure no one’s dead… I thought you meant that last sentence as an “we’re being censored!” Bit
I’m gonna guess you’re just trolling or unwell mentally, I am from WNC and a majority of my family and friends live there. There is one granite mine that supplies for chips and it is in a specific town called Spruce Pine. The government did not manufacture a hurricane that covered a third of a state so one town can give away mining rights
The tone of this writing is bizarre, even for satire
There are lines for grocery stores but it’s mostly because the store itself is throttling the number of people in the store at the same time, gas is non-existent, no cell or Internet connection, many without power or water or both. I don’t know if it’s as bad as Katrina but it is certainly pretty bad and way worse than when the area was hit by multiple hurricanes in the late 2,000s.
I do partially agree with your sentiment but the biggest issue is the Democratic party itself.
In my mind if they hadn’t ham fisted Hilary in '16 none of this would have happened in the first place and that’s only the tip of the iceberg of that parties failings.
