Reading is hard and understanding two layers (that you mean OOP and not OP of this post), is even harder

Thrid arrow is red and pointing up to the right; black background. This is a play on the social democratic Three Arrows, since the third arrows stands for anti-communism

The industrial revolution and it’s consequences…
I don’t see how that reflects on the project, even more so since you are nor supporting them in any way by using SimpleX, since it’s not paid, free/libre and decentralised
It’s objectively one of the best secure messengers out there (right next to Signal and Briar) with Matrix trailing by a bit but still faaaar ahead of most other stuff

Better to use SimpleX than Deltachat tbh

I like some opinionated software as well (Gnome for example). Opinionated always fits better than generalised stuff IMO. I can disagree with that opinion, but that just means it’s not for me and might be great for others
алсааас [she/they]@lemmy.dbzer0.comto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Feedback on whether to host Lemmy or Piefed for niche community - Cross post PieFed1·13 days agoIMO letting the default be default and offering other options is the best. Why? Bc the frontents are inconsistent and may only partially offer features lemmy-ui has or in a different way. Like leave the default bc it’s the thing people are used to but give the freedom of choice having various frontends “natively” on your instance

алсааас [she/they]@lemmy.dbzer0.comto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Feedback on whether to host Lemmy or Piefed for niche community - Cross post PieFed6·12 days agoA comment I came across like two weeks ago puts it quite well:
I haven’t used piefed myself but I wouldn’t want to switch to it because I feel like it gives more power to downvotes and karma (or “reputation” as they call it):
- Comments with -10 score are collapsed by default.
- People who get downvoted a lot end up with a ‘low reputation’ indicator next to their name. You’ll know it when you see it.
- Upvotes in meme communities do not add to reputation.
Those are three of the twelve points listed as differences to lemmy on their features page.
I also don’t agree with some of the points in their article on “PieFed features for growing healthy communities”.

the comments’ thread is also quite interestingPlus it’s written in Python and has only a few hundred MAUs, so we can only guess how well it scales
EDIT: Regarding Lemmy frontends, I suggest you take a look at how the instance I’m on handles it. They append a single char in front of the url to signify the various frontends
For a split second I thought this was a person in a very elaborate fursuit lol
