If by “decks” you mean “shoots him in the head and kills him” then yeah

That’s a Tower of London raven! They were one of the coolest parts of the Tower complex. Incredible birds, and so much bigger than you expect. I got up to within a foot of one that was chilling on a ledge and took a selfie with him. You really get a sense of their intelligence when you get up close and make eye contact with them.
Also our tour guide told us that they get whole rabbits as a treat once a week and they eat them bones, fur, and all.
Jason Lee’s character in Dogma brings this up. He said that initially Hell was just the absence of God (which in itself is said to be painful), but once humans got there they were so unable to forgive themselves and live without the divine presence that they turned it into a place of unimaginable pain and suffering.
I don’t think that’s supported by the Bible and I’m not sure if that’s a position that was even put forth by later Christian thinkers, but it’s all mythology to me anyway and I find the different interpretations interesting.
Absolutely. There are certain things I never get in a restaurant anymore. Steak, for example, is very easy once you learn how to cook it and gets marked up a lot.
But sometimes a fast food burger just hits. And even if it’s $7 that’s still less money than I would spend to buy the individual ingredients to make it.
I love to cook, but your time and effort are also worth money.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•FACT: Belle did NOT know the beast could turn into a human, she was fully prepared to bang him as is
9·23 hours agoIsn’t that kinda the whole point of the story?
The fruit (not an apple) is the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. God tells Adam and Eve not to eat from it or they will die.
The serpent (who is not Satan, simply a snake) convinces Eve and subsequently Adam to eat the fruit, basically telling them that God is lying to them and keeping secrets from them.
God subsequently expels them from the Garden of Eden for disobeying him.
Adam and Eve had free will all along, it wasn’t given to them by the forbidden fruit.
Satan didn’t give humans free will, God did. They were created that way.
but OP is built different though

World News@lemmy.world•Starmer expected to resign on Monday and set out orderly exitEnglish
102·1 day agoI’m familiar with the analogy. It means it’s a futile effort. But it didn’t explain anything about the UK in particular like the second sentence of this comment did.
Satan doesn’t do the punishing, God does.

83·1 day agoDo you think my arguments are bad faith or are you just prejudiced because you’ve heard others use the terms maliciously? Is there anything I’ve said aside from referring to people with vaginas as “biological females” that you’ve disagreed with?

102·1 day agoIt’s right-wing rhetoric to support people embracing whatever gender identity they are regardless of biological sex?
The real trick all along was always reducing your consumption of disposable products.

82·1 day agoI have read them. Your friends are biological females who identify as either men, non-binary, or gender-fluid. And we support that.

151·1 day agoBut can we not do better than “people with vaginas” and “people who menstruate”? Those terms are overly cumbersome and in fact I would argue that they otherize trans people by pointing out the fact that they’re different. Man/woman is gendered but we have lots of other terms for the different gender identities people have. Male/female are “gendered” terms because biological sex is binary.

102·1 day agoYou’re conflating biological sex with gender identity. Not all females are women and not all women are females.

121·1 day agoWould “females” be a better term? It’s more accurate to be sure, but using the word “females” - in (American) English at least - has a weird connotation that I don’t always like.
