It’s a great one
I have not. I just always have soy sauce so it’s my go to. I also like to add fish sauce for similar reasons but that’s more specific.
All (most?) liqueurs we’re medicinal products at some point. We just stopped drinking them for health and now just for flavor. They also changed some formulas to make them cheaper / sweeter
Not if you’re French apparently
Soy Sauce.
If it’s savory dish I always add a splash or two. It’s extra salt and umami to everything. I love it
Elderberry is also a wonderful edible medicinal plant. Their berries are delicious and immune boosting

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Does "learning to make beef jerky" count as a hobby for someone wishing to grow their hobbies? Or is it more accurately described as a culinary skill similar to barbecuing or slow-cooking or smoking?English
3·3 days agoMost of my hobbies involve consumables. I love to garden, cook, herbalism (tinctures, salves, teas, etc.) and foraging. Making jerky would totally fit in what I would love to do.
I love making things to share with friends, family and myself. Also I LOVE to eat and drink so it makes sense to focus my time and energy on it. Go for it dude
I saw that. They look larger and more clustered than harebell. They look like some kind of bellflower. Just wanted to know if you knew for sure

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Does your hobby have a "random person in Nebraska" project? If so, what is it?English
14·9 days agoI think most hobbies have a few legends of the hobby.
I recently got into learning about foraging. There’s is one dude is Wisconsin who basically wrote “The Book” on foraging. Samuel Thayer has basically rewrote what is and isn’t edible. He tried all the old sources himself as well as doing checking ethnobotany sources and asking people native to the region about every plant. He’s got three books and the ultimate field guide. All his books and titles are the source of the new AI slop foraging books out there.

2·9 days agoIn my city there’s a glasswork studio that does classes and has studio space. I have made a stained glass snowflakes and leaves. It was fun. So look to see if they’re are studios
I’m the planner for my friend group (maybe the secondary planner) and my wife is the planner for most of her friends. We just had a baby and now we can plan less so we have less events to go to.

Dungeons and Dragons@lemmy.world•Is there any D&D campaigns that are slice of life?English
4·11 days agoUsually those kind of slice of life are between adventures. I do think Dragons of Icespire Peak has a home base with a quest board that has some low level adventures. If you take it as a starting point I think you can keep the vibes going.
If you are really interested in playing this way you will need to stop leveling up after a certain point. I think level 6 (maybe 3 if you want to be really small) can be the max with a potential to gain more HP or feats instead of features. This level 6 cap has been used in older editions for a type of play

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•How do I get one of those jobs where I send an email and then go to a meeting then draft an email then leave work and get paid $98,000/Year and have a badge on a little cord that says senior deputy anEnglish
3·12 days agoJob hopping is the best way to get better money and job title. It’s worth staying for a few years ever once in a while if you prefer the stability over the income bump. I am in my stable phase while my children are young before jumping again. I am thinking maybe 5 years or so. Unless the great job comes
