That’s a big “IF” tho. I’ve been teaching embedded programming classes and had to teach folks some very basic stuff like how to RTFM or how to look for stuff on the internet - people don’t even use search engines anymore. 🌚

8·5 days agoStalin when you ask him why most of known communist revolutionaries from 1910’s and early 1920’s have 1939 as date of death in their Wikipedia article: 🤭.
Wheatstone offered to demonstrate that three out of four boys in a nearby school could learn to use it in 15 minutes, but the Under Secretary of the Foreign Office responded, “That is very possible, but you could never teach it to attachés.”

10·6 days agoHey, Athens were the champion of democracy and human rights of their time. One just had to be a well-off man with both Athenian parents to feel the benefits. 🌚
Another European europeansplaining here.
There was that thing with memes that if corporate social media people posted some meme - that would be akin to that specific meme’s death certificate. Like, people had fun with something, and now there’s corporations trying to buddy up, and it’s no fun anymore.
So… kinda the same thing with celebrity endorsements. Immediately makes things feel 10x less genuine.

4·10 days agoSo can it be said that formation of famous British Rifle Brigade in 1800s was a direct result of being on receiving end of ass kicking in America?
The OG of strawman fallacy.

History Memes@piefed.social•"Your Russian neighbor, he is, uh... friendly, yes...?"English
8·10 days agoWorst part was that Russians despite quite often having their asses handed to them would just get back angrier after some time.
In Far East, there were 3(!) Russo-Chukchi wars before the latter were finally colonized. Russians even brought their battle fleet for the last one. Against dudes who live in yurts and shoot bows.

2·10 days agoOh, I mixed it up, my bad. The controversy involving Nasser was about Egyptian cooperation with nazis after WW2, with technocrats like Willy Messerschmitt and also propagandists and most importantly - ex-Wehrmacht officers.

21·10 days agoOne of my favourite facts about Nasser that he was awarded “Hero of the Soviet Union” medal, despite also being quite a staunch nationalist, and also despite his cooperation with Nazis
inafter WW2. 🌚Vladimir Vysotsky even had next verses in one of his songs (tough translation):
Take away the medal from Nasser.
Nasser is not fit for our medals.
So yeah, for Soviet citizens did not approve that.
When they also say “We’re one big family here!”. They don’t say it’s a dysfunctional one. 🌚

I’d argue that he wasn’t that bad. Battles in Second Italian Independence War, where he personally took part, were won by Franco-Italian coalition, even if last one was quite heavy on casualties (something his uncle was known for too).
It’s just that he should’ve stayed home in 1970 even if he had his uncle’s talent - his health was simply too shit at that point.

29·14 days agoI feel like AI employed to audit the company and look for ways to increase efficiency can certainly get funny ideas about guys who get seven figure paychecks for showing PowerPoints once in a while. 🌝

If you’re very new to that - I’d just recommend picking up some Arduino (at least UNO R3) starter kit plus some measurement tools - multimeter and maybe an oscilloscope (there are cheap handheld ones like DSO).
And then you just fool around with what you’ve got - try to read each sensors data, try to use each actuator, think of some useful projects with what you’ve got.
And from there you can go to stuff like ESP32 to explore wireless stuff (mostly compatible with Arduino too).
