The police are extremely averse to investigating any death that could feasibly be a suicide, and I’d imagine that’s even more salient when the victim is a minority. I’ve heard second-hand stories of this happening in my town under even more suspicious circumstances, they will do literally anything to avoid extra work.

I have a refurb unlocked Pixel 8 Pro and it’s easily the best phone I’ve ever owned. I previously owned mostly mid-range Samsungs and they always seemed to start shitting the bed in different ways within one or two years, I doubt I’ll be going back to that.
