  • “Fixing” social media is like “fixing” capitalism. Any manmade system can be changed, destroyed, or rebuilt. It’s not an impossible task but will require a fundamental shift in the way we see/talk to/value each other as people.

The one thing I know for sure is that social media won’t ever improve if we all accept the narrative that it can’t be improved.

We live in capitalism. Its power seems inescapable. So did the divine right of kings. Any human power can be resisted and changed by human beings. Resistance and change often begin in art, and very often in our art, the art of words.

    -Ursula K Le Guin

The people who died didn’t deserve it tho. I see that the US, as a country, fucked around and found out. I think we need to be mindful of our rhetoric tho cuz a lot of people brutally died that day and very much did not deserve it.

  • As a gay man, fuck this comment. Nothing about him reads gay. He says he’s straight. He has a wife. He has kids. He’s said so much anti-LGBTQ shit. He’s straight.

So fucking sick of people making homophobes out to be closet gays. Every time you say that a homophobe is secretly just a self-hating gay, you’re literally saying that gay people are the reason behind their own homophobia. If behind every homophobe is a self-hating gay man, then you’re saying that gay men are causing all the hate within their own community.

And guess what! It’s bullshit! 99.999999999% of homophobic men who identify as straight are straight. They’re not secretly self-hating gays—they’re just straight dudes who hate gays. And that’s who JD Vance is. He’s a run-of-the-mill homophobic straight man who fucks couches. Call it for what it is, goddammit.
