Just one of those pesky Freudian slips. Thinking of one thing but dreaming your mother :P
I’m sorry you have to deal with with bullies and I hope your shift change creates a healthier work atmosphere for you 🫂
I also think dreams are snippets of our minds running in the background that sometimes get patched together in odd ways :D
They can be influenced by recent events or things you think about often.
Lucid dreaming is like a real-life superpower. I wish I was able to do it.
I hope that you can find peace and closure 🫂
razorcandy@discuss.tchncs.deto Unpopular Opinion@lemmy.world•There is nothing wrong with websites, browsers and search engines using our data to make money.English3·22 hours agoYou could argue that users agree to exchange their data for convenience and free services when they accept the terms of service and create an account with a company that collects and sells user data. So it’s true that there is a degree of personal accountability there.
However, sometimes you’re required to have an account with one of these services for something like work or school. And sometimes you can even be tracked when you visit websites without creating an account based on your device ID, settings, IP address, browser specifications, maybe even facial recognition used on a photo of you someone else uploaded. Technically you can avoid this by not accepting those jobs or attending those schools, or not visiting any websites at all, but how practical is that in modern life?
I think your average user isn’t well-informed about the extent of data collection and how easy it is to de-anonymize data by cross referencing it, and businesses both take advantage of that ignorance/apathy towards privacy and downplay the extent of how they use it. I support more *transparency* around data collection and sharing policies.
That’s a sweet and comforting sentiment <3
On a side note, I never liked the term “big girl job”. Just feels infantilizing and not in a cute way.
razorcandy@discuss.tchncs.deto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Should Lemmy consider adding a Manual Profile Status Feature (Online, Busy, Invisible, etc.)?8·5 days agoI like how Lemmy is reminiscent of early Internet forums and how users have a choice to share as little or as much as they want about themselves. Having online status publicly displayed detracts from that experience. We shouldn’t have to justify being offline or simply not wanting to respond right away. The internet is at our fingertips but it doesn’t mean we need to be accessible all the time.

Jelly, jam, compote, syrups for juices, and liqueur are all long-lasting things you can make with them.
Observe how they treat people who they don’t benefit from in financial, sexual, or other material ways. Don’t rush to be too generous with them.
Thank you for the clarification. I wanted to go along with the joke of it looking “edible”, but context is appreciated :)
Fun fact: a gram of plutonium contains about 20 billion calories. Yum.
Drama is best as a spectator sport, not a participant one.

More efforts to make and perfect self-driving vehicles.
Gene editing as a more widespread solution to illnesses and defects.

razorcandy@discuss.tchncs.deto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Can an American go to Europe just for cheaper healthcare?22·8 days agoMedical tourism is a real thing. Whether you will pay less than you would in the US will depend on the country you go to and the procedure. Without insurance you are still likely to pay a lot of money at a private clinic. You also have to factor in whether you will need follow-up appointments and plan for complications because those costs plus the costs of multiple overseas trips and living accommodations will add up.
My eyes when I do eyeshadow, haha.
I wish for you to find love for yourself and acceptance with those that will appreciate you for who you are. 🫂 The impact of trauma can be hard to reverse but not impossible. But the good news is that even an old beat up RV can be repaired, restored, used towards building/buying a new one.
