Which is fine. Really would love to not have a fall happen, but ultimately if the rest of the world can thrive and move forward even with our current idiocracy taking hold, I can live with that. All I hope for is that this will pass and we can rise up from it.
Fucking nerds in the commentsl love it
thingAmaBob@lemmy.worldto News@lemmy.world•Why a professor of fascism left the US: ‘The lesson of 1933 is – you get out’60·26 days agoAs others have already commented, not everyone can just leave. Also, if we could all leave, who would take so many USA immigrants?
I mean… You can’t think about it 24/7 or else you will go insane. This kind of thing requires endurance for the long haul.
thingAmaBob@lemmy.worldto News@lemmy.world•Americans are losing spending power, say researchers: Most can no longer afford a 'minimal quality of life'15·28 days agoAgreed. People are forgetting how the USA was created. This isn’t new. Targeting “illegals” has happened more than once before. If things actually implode, it could hopefully become an opportunity to build a fair society; one where white (elite) supremacists aren’t actually in charge.

All of the small gas stations have been bought and sold within the last couple of years and upgraded to this stupid video ad model.

I’ve seen medical professionals over the years and their recommendation is to eat anything & everything I can that won’t make me sick. I pretty much eat the same thing nearly everyday & most vegan protein sources make me sick.

thingAmaBob@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is the oldest thing you own that you still use daily?2·1 month agoA large tooth comb I’ve had since middle school. I used it everyday until a couple of years ago when I switched to a brush better designed for my hair type, but I still use it on occasion. Not sure how I haven’t lost that thing throughout the years.
ETA: I’ve had the thing for over 2 decades!
thingAmaBob@lemmy.worldto News@lemmy.world•Hickman’s Family Farms loses 95% of Arizona chickens to bird flu73·1 month agoHumans don’t need meat
Yes, some of us do. Not everyone’s body is made to thrive on a vegan diet. Many of us are medically unable to not eat meat.

“Prior to the age of 6, you need to have some fluoride that you swallow so that it can get into the developing permanent teeth,” she said. “That’s the most important time for systemic fluoride.”
Explains why we were forced to take fluoride tablets in school. I wonder if parents (who are pro fluoride) could just do that for their children, if they can’t manage to keep fluoride in the public water supply.
thingAmaBob@lemmy.worldto News@lemmy.world•Top virologists sound the alarm on bird flu and plead with world leaders to prepare for another pandemic1·2 months agoI have IBS/GERD and the food allergies aren’t actually limiting (it’s only two things). The combo of IBS & GERD limit what I can eat in general, and vegetarian or vegan sources of protein must be eaten in very small amounts seldomly or I simply cannot eat them at all. I am unable to eat even wheat/seitan or soy or dairy. Seldom can I eat beans/lentil/nuts/seeds.
thingAmaBob@lemmy.worldto News@lemmy.world•MAGA’s era of ‘soft eugenics’: let the weak get sick, help the clever breed1·2 months agoSeriously, what the fuck is wrong with these people? I mean, we could just push further with research and find a way to cure diabetes or disabilities instead of just “letting people die.” It’s madness, and I genuinely believe there is something clinically wrong with these people. But because they are in power, no one is holding them accountable.
thingAmaBob@lemmy.worldto News@lemmy.world•Top virologists sound the alarm on bird flu and plead with world leaders to prepare for another pandemic3·2 months agoThat’s not possible for all of us. I have dietary issues and food allergies that keep me on a strict diet. Animal protein (and even the type is limited) is the only source of main protein I can eat regularly without getting sick. Shit like this scares me because I’m afraid I could literally end up starving to death if all the birds and fish die.

I had a sudden fly infestation years ago and have never been lazy about even just one fly in my home since.

I haven’t seen that happen to everyone I know around that age. Many still have their wits about them and see the current state of affairs as a clown show. Some are even out here on the streets protesting.
Played around with music stuff out of curiosity. Will not be using it in the future, unless it can be used to make editing easier (splicing sections, decreasing volume in specific sections, altering instruments, etc), but that is already easier than ever with current technology. AI lacks soul and it just sounds too… mathematical, if that makes sense. Glad I never had the desire to use it for anything else.
