The article makes it seem only Chinese AVs are doing it
I don’t think we’re past all the climate tipping points; that’d start to cause runaway changes. Swift action right now would still provide a chance to lessen the impact.
The worst case scenarios would be truly disastrous though, and would cause secondary human conflicts due to unavailability of basic resources.
And now even plans to do AI-generated ads:

There was too little rain this year which made the fires much worse.
I fail to understand why they stick with fossil fuels even though renewable deployments are cheaper than ever. Although there’s misinformation and politics, they should look at long term profits…

Autonomous Vehicles•Tesla's social media posts falsely implied that its cars are robotaxis, NHTSA warnsEnglish
8·2 年前Damn it looks even more likely as per this article:
At the moment, there is a major obstacle to Musk’s self-driving ambitions: Federal regulators at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration have been hesitant to lay out a path for approving the next generation of robotic vehicles.
But with Musk now firmly in Trump’s inner circle, the billionaire is in a stronger position to influence development of federal rules that would put more of the cars on the road — an approach he proposed in a recent call with financial analysts.

Lol, atleast it was the safest option. Somebody mentioned that Waymo’s remote assistance was able to guide around it later.
The most ideal handling would be to take the adjacent lane like a human would I guess.

They explain the problem very well imo.
