Perhaps a better example is in the reverse - during the Late Roman Republic, a woman by the name of Gaia Afrania was so successful in arguing legal cases that it resulted in male lawyers banding together and (successfully) lobbying for women to be barred from arguing the legal cases of others (they could still argue their own legal cases).
I was ready to believe there have always been insecure shitty men. I mean, I still do, but I guess this isn’t solid evidence for it.
