“They told me to my face: ‘You know what those stars mean? Those stars are styled by gangsters in your country,’” he told the Tribune. “I said, no. I got these stars when—no kidding—I was starting to leave adolescence, started working. I got them because I liked them and I wanted to get them.”

ICE is operating on the same level of intelligence analysis as one of those “FW: fw: fw: fw: RE: FW: FW: WARNING NEW CRIME SCHEME IN OUR COMMUNITY” chain emails from the 90’s.

It’s like that time we were going over the dress code in middle school and the teacher told us we couldn’t wear baseball caps anymore “because of the gangs.”

We lived in a suburb with a homicide rate of like 3 people from the last decade who were killed in car accidents.

I went to high school in a small rural town, and when I was there were a handful of kids that were in a “gang.” Which meant a few dorky white boys sitting around listening to gangsta rap.

In an attempt to get “cred,” they started a rumor that they had pissed off some gang from a city with a reputation for violent gangs, and that as retribution this gang was going to drive to the high school and shoot it up during lunchtime, so noon. The city in question, though, was a six hour drive away. So there was both the doubt aspect of, how did these dorky white boys from the sticks even get into the same sphere as this hardened urban street gang, as well as the six hour drive meant the gang would have to roll out around 5-6am. Gang members aren’t exactly notorious for getting an early start.

Nevertheless, the cracker parents freaked out and only like a 1/3 of the school showed up that day.

That “intelligence” is just what they say publicly because they know “we just hate Mexicans which is why we invaded a child’s birthday party” sounds bad on the News.

These are Nazis, plain and simple. Some of them even have Nazi tattoos.

yeah, this is like the old joke.
“let’s go ask him for cigarettes, and if he has filtered cigarettes, we’ll beat him up.”
“what if he has unfiltered cigarettes?”
“we’ll beat him up of course”

Most of those chain emails from the 90’s had reactionary and racist undertones (the Mexican rat-dog one is especially relevant to the current moment).

They just use dragnet surveillance to hallucinate crime networks based off of degrees of separation from an arrested person, even before AI became a buzzword they were going nuts with this stuff, it’s gonna get worse

“The gang members were found in the midst of an initiation ceremony where they blindfold a member and have them beat a small horse they covered in colorful paper and hung from a tree. They then chant “candy candy candy!” which is code for drugs. We’re glad to have removed these violent murderers from the streets!”
