    @NarrativeBear@lemmy.world this is nothing new. Back when the COVID-19 pandemics was at its peak, a state-owned Brazilian bank Caixa Econômica Federal created an app named “Caixa Tem”, where people could apply for and receive a governamental aid. The app had a “queue” akin to that one.

      My state has this for unemployment benefits. At peak times it can take hours to get through.
