    I have absolutely no idea what this is going to be after the episode. I know the setting but I couldn’t tell you what genre it’s going to be. A SoL with yokai? Bit bloody there at the end for that. Maybe a detective show where Mc has to solve the murder with his cute yokai sidekick? But there wasn’t any indication that MC is good at that. I’m completely stumped and it’s never a good sign when a show can’t establish a clear genre after an entire episode.

      Agreed! I want to keep watching just so I can get a grasp on what this show even is. Seems like it’ll most likely be a mystery, but what a weird vibe for the first episode.

        For what it’s worth, livechart does have the “Mystery” tag attached to this show. I agree that the first ep wasn’t well set up to indicate that.
